Free Tracts available in Hollywood.

Who could turn that down? For those of you not familiar with tracts, according to Wikipedia:

A tract is a literary work, and in current usage, usually religious in nature. The notion of what constitutes a tract has changed over time. By the early part of the twenty-first century, these meant small pamphlets used for religious and political purposes, though far more often the former. They are often either left for someone to find or handed out.

Back in July 2008, I captured this video while on Hollywood Blvd. I just thought it was funny that the sign says “Free Tracts – Jesus is Real.” As If someone would pay for this propaganda.

So, lo and behold I happened to see the same stand on Hollywood again. No video this time, but I did have Rose’s Nikon D60. So I struck up a conversation with the street preacher, who’s name is Elliot Pruitt. He said after a few minutes of conversation, he reminisced a dream, while homeless, in which God told him to build this stand and pass out information. God even told him how he wanted the stand constructed, like a holy blueprint or something. The details became very spotty when pressed and he was clearly agitated by my questions.

I pointed out that people come up with ideas all the time, without divine intervention, but Elliot seemed convinced passing out free tracts will be his salvation.
